West Ham vs Liverpool
England – Premier League
Date: Sunday, 31 January 2021
Kick-off at 16:30 UK/ 17:30 CET
Venue: Olympic Stadium.
After a period of dismal run, the Reds finally delivered a good performance the last match-day, and that too against a top-tier team. Now, they need to make sure that this streak is sustained, as they need to make up for the points they have dropped.
As of now, Jurgen Klopp’s men are placed fourth in the table, trailing by four points behind toppers Manchester City – and that too with the Citizens having an extra game in hand.
Meanwhile, the Hammers are on a phenomenal run at the moment. They are one of the four teams in the entire competition to stay unbeaten in the past five match-days, and the only only one along with Pep Guardiola’s men to have won the past four fixtures in the league.
They are also placed fifth in the table, and with second-placed Manchester United taking on the in-form Gunners, a win this weekend would do a world of good for David Moyes’s men.
On top of that, majority of h2h meetings also had goals in plenty over the years, and particularly the ones at this venue.
As such, expect another goal-fest at the Olympic Stadium.
West Ham vs Liverpool: Head-to-head (h2h)
- The Reds had won seven of the previous eight match-ups.
- They have scored two or more goals in eight of the former nine encounters.
- Eight of the past ten meetings had three or more goals.
- 12 of the last 16 clashes at this venue had three or more goals.
West Ham vs Liverpool Prediction
The Hammers recorded a 2-3 win on the road the last match-day, against Crystal Palace. In the meantime, Klopp’s men registered a 1-3 victory on the road the past game week, against Tottenham.
Going on, Moyes’s men are on a six-game winning run, and they were unbeaten in 13 of the past 15 fixtures. They have scored a total of nine goals from the former three games alone, and have failed to find the back of the net just once this whole season here.
On the other hand, the Reds recently returned to form against Spurs, and over the years have a terrific h2h record against the Hammers. In the process, they have also scored in plenty as well.
Likely, expect a high-scoring affair this weekend at the Olympic Stadium.
