West Ham vs Brentford
England – Premier League
Date: Sunday, 3 October 2021
Kick-off at 14:00 UK/ 15:00 CET
Venue: Olympic Stadium.

West Ham have been impressive so far this season. They have lost just once in 2021-22 in all competitions, and the sole loss had come against Manchester United.

Lately, they are on a great run, and are scoring goals in huge numbers. They have also just posted a dominant win in the Europa League, and if recent performances are any indication, the team is going after a top-six finish at the least.

Do note that they had finished sixth in the table the last season, above the likes of Spurs, Arsenal, Everton etc.

In the meantime, Brentford have all the makings to be the black horses of this edition of the PL. Despite being a new addition to the top flight (they were promoted from the Championship at the end of 2020-22), the team has been wreaking havoc.

They started their run with a 2-0 win at home against Arsenal, and just the last match-day, they delivered an impressive 3-3 draw against current toppers and all-conquering Liverpool.

West Ham surely do have their work cut out for them this weekend. Still, they are at home, and have a great h2h record against this rival. They might not secure a clean sheet this Sunday, but a win is surely the expected outcome.

West Ham vs Brentford: Head-to-head (h2h)

  • The latest encounter had ended in a 0-1 win for West Ham.
  • They are on a 100% winning record since 1993.
  • In fact, they have kept clean sheets in all but one match-up in the past three decades.
  • At home, they have scored two or more goals in every single game since 1990.

West Ham vs Brentford Prediction

West Ham recorded a 1-2 win on the road the last match-day, against Leeds. In the meantime, Brentford were held to a 3-3 draw by Liverpool.

Going on, West Ham have lost just once this whole season, and the defeat had come against Manchester United. And at home, since November of 2020, they have lost just against Liverpool, Chelsea, United, and Everton.

Going on, they also have a 100% winning record in h2h meetings against this foe since 1993, and importantly, Brentford are a team that were just promoted to the top flight.

As such, expect a win for West Ham this Sunday.

However, considering the spirit Brentford have shown so far, and particularly their three-goal performance against the almighty Liverpool defense, expect them to find the back of the net at least once
