Chelsea attackers trio Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner were put through their paces at Cobham training base on Friday morning as Frank Lampard’s men prepared for mouthwatering encounter with Manchester United latest this evening.
The Blues players were returned to full group training yesterday morning after goalless draw against Sevilla in Uefa Champions League in midweek, with the focus now turning towards Saturday’s Premier League clash with United.
Frank Lampard’s side will aiming to get back to winning ways after failed to win their last two matches following 4-0 home victory over Crystal Palace just before the international break.
The Blues have not won in the league at Old Trafford for seven years and Frank Lampard’s reign as manager began last season with a 4-0 hammering United. They also lost 2-0 at home although they did win the FA Cup semi-final between the two.
However, Frank Lampard’s side are expected to get positive result from Old Trafford this evening, following their six major signings in summer transfer window with including Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz, who scored four goals and contributed two assists in all competitions so far this season.
And ahead of mouthwatering clash with United, Pulisic, Ziyech, Werner and Kai Havertz, looked sharp during Chelsea final preparations while Thiago Silva, who made his return to starting XI in midweek was also involved at Cobham and could be make starting eleven alongside Kurt Zouma when clash with the Red Devils this evening.
Captain Cesar Azipilicueta was also involved in training while goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is also looked sharp and is expected to continues in the six-yard box after an impressive performance during Chelsea’s goalless draw against Sevilla in midweek.
