Spezia vs AC Milan
Italy Serie A,
Date: Saturday, 25 September 2021
Kick-off 14:00 UK/ 15:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Alberto Picco.
Milan are looking to continue their fine Serie A form on Saturday when they travel to Stadio Alberto Picco to take on Spezia in the first game of the Matchday.
Milan struggled to break the deadlock past strugglers Venezia on Wednesday evening, but they eventually managed to find two second-half goals and pick up their fourth win of the season.
In the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud (both injured), Ante Rebic led the line once again.
Unlike the last weekend’s game at Juventus when the Croat scored the equalizer, the goals came from behind in the mid-week’s fixture.
Brahim Diaz got his second goal of the campaign to open the scoring, while substitute Theo Hernandez set the final score four minutes from time.
Another clean sheet means that Milan have now allowed just two goals in five matches since the start of the season.
Stefano Pioli’s men will be heavy favorites on Saturday as well given they are about to play Spezia who lost three of their last four outings.
The hosts did offer a strong resistance on Wednesday against Juve (had a 2-1 lead), but shipped two late goals to eventually lose the tie.
Spezia have the second-worst defensive record in the division with 13 goals shipped in 5 games.
They have lost both home fixtures so far in the season (0-1 to Udinese and 2-3 to Juventus).
