Real Madrid vs FC Sheriff
UEFA Champions League
Date: Tuesday, 28 September 2021
Kick-off at 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET
Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
The Los Blancos seem to be getting their old dominance back under Carlo Ancelotti. They are at the top of their league table with an unbeaten record, and have been scoring goals for fun lately.
They have also started their European campaign on a great note, and hope to continue the run this Tuesday as well.
Along with the Royal Whites, Inter were supposed to be the other squad to fill out the top-two spots. However, Ancelotti’s men managed to defeat the Italians in the first match-day itself, and now are the odds-on favorite to become group champions.
Offense has really been on fire for the 13-time European champions. Despite the La Liga having completed just seven match-days, the team has already scored eight more goals than any other team in the competition.
They are already on a great run, and they are pitted against a minnow for this upcoming match-up.
Sheriff might be one of the best in Moldova, but it needs to mentioned that they are from a much inferior domestic league – and are miles beneath in terms of quality and experience compared to the Royal Whites.
As things stand, expect Real Madrid to secure another win this Tuesday, and take the sole possession of the top-most spot in the group.
Real Madrid vs Sheriff: Head-to-head (h2h)
- These two teams are yet to lock horns with each other.
- Ancelotti’s men are about to face their first ever Moldovan opponent.
- Similarly, Sheriff are facing their first Spanish rival as well.
Real Madrid vs Sheriff Prediction
The Los Blancos recorded a 0-1 win on the road the last match-day in the CL against Inter. In the meantime, Sheriff registered a 2-0 win at home against Shakhtar.
Going on, Ancelotti’s men have been on fire lately. They are on a nine-game unbeaten run, and have scored three or more goals in four of their last eight fixtures.
They are also on a 17-match unbeaten streak at home, and had scored five or more goals in two of the last three home appearances.
On the other hand, Sheriff might be on a good run as well. But they have not been tested against European elites. Moreover, they were also winless in three of their past five road trips.
By all means, expect the titans Real Madrid to secure a convincing win this Tuesday. However, on account of their inconsistent defense, a clean sheet looks unlikely
