REAL MADRID VS CHELSEA PREDICTION

After knocking out reigning Premier League holders Liverpool in the quarter-finals, 13-time Champions League winners Real Madrid are looking to take another English scalp as they face Chelsea in the semi-finals. Zinedine Zidane’s side are expected to start this game on the front foot as they look to acquire a first leg lead in Madrid, however they’ll be hoping to combine their attacking style of play with the same defensive solidarity that has seen them keep clean sheets in each of their last four games in all competitions. Chelsea meanwhile, have a strong record at the back this season in Europe, having kept seven clean sheets in the season’s Champions League so far and Thomas Tuchel’s men are yet to concede a goal away from home in the knockout stage. The visitors are expected to try and soak up the pressure enforced upon them by Real Madrid and look to utilise their pace both going forward and through their wing-backs. In what should prove a very tight semi-final first leg, under 2.5 goals scored over the course of 90 minutes has to be favoured when taking into account the defensive form of both teams and if a winner is to be found in this one, it would be surprise if the margin of victory was any larger than a single goal.
