Napoli host Roma in a heavyweight Serie A clash on Sunday at 7:45pm following both sides’ Europa League exploits on Thursday evening.
Gennaro Gattuso will be desperate for victory, having lost his last two at Stadio San Paolo in the league. His Napoli side are sixth in Serie A, with five wins and three defeats from the opening eight games; victory would see them draw level on points with Roma.
Napoli have a strong recent record against Roma, having won four of their last seven Serie A matches against them, just one win fewer than in their previous 23 meetings.
Roma are unbeaten in the league since the opening day, when they suffered a shock 3-0 defeat by Verona.
It promises to be a high-quality contest in Naples.

Napoli & Roma’s previous line-ups:
- Napoli (vs AC Milan): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Manolas, Koulibaly, Rui; Ruiz, Bakayoko*; Lozano, Politano, Insigne; Mertens.
- Roma (vs Parma): Mirante; Ibanez, Cristante, Mancini; Karsdorp, Villar, Veretout, Spinazzola; Rodrigiuez, Mkhitaryan; Mayoral.
Napoli do not have a full squad to choose from. Victor Osimhen is still out and Tiemoue Bakayoko is suspended after being sent off in the 3-1 defeat by AC Milan last weekend. Elseid Hysaj remains sidelined.
Edin Dzeko and Federico Fazio are back available, but Chris Smalling, Roger Ibanez, Gianluca Mancini and Marash Kumbulla are all sidelined for Roma.
Player to watch: Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Roma)
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is the man for Roma at the moment. The Armenian attacking midfielder has scored five goals in his last two league games, with a hat-trick against Genoa followed by a brace in the 3-0 win over Parma last weekend, while also leads Serie A when it comes to assists, notching four.
With Dzeko set to feature after a period on the sidelines, Roma’s attack looks potent. Mkhitaryan is a confidence player who has been provided with all the freedom he needs to be at his best by manager Paulo Fonseca. After a difficult end to his career in the Premier League with Arsenal, he appears to be hitting his stride in the Italian capital.
