Brest vs Dijon
France – Ligue 1
Date: Wednesday 3rd March 2021
Kick off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Stade Francis-Le Ble.
Brest lost at Monaco last weekend 2-0 but the club put up a good match and could have easily drawn that match. It was a much closer contest than the final score suggested.
However it means that the club have lost back to back games coming into this one and have just 1 victory in their last five. The gap to the bottom three is just six points even if Brest might think they are safe in 14th.
At home Brest have been solid this season although recent form is not good with 3 defeats in their last four. The club have won 7 games from 13 though and indeed have the 5th best home record in Ligue 1.
Dijon as expected lost at home to PSG and the final score was 4-0. Dijon will certainly be relegated this season as they have just 15 points and are 11 points from safety. The club have earned just 3 points from their last 30 on offer and there is no saving them now.
Away from home it’s two wins so far and they have lost their last 4 in a row conceding six goals in their last 2 trips and have no wins so far this year.
Brest vs Dijon: Head to Head
- Last season Brest won this fixture 2-0.
- Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Brest won again by the same score line of 2-0.
- There is a 60% chance to see over 2.5 goals.
Brest vs Dijon: Prediction
This should be a straight forward victory for Brest and Dijon have not won at this ground since 2010. Dijon have low spirits and no confidence and it is impossible to back the away side or even a draw.
This looks like a banker choice for the home win. Of course football can surprise but it would take a non performance for Brest to let Dijon in.
Brest’s recent home form is not good but overall it is a great record at home and one would think that the club would be able to turn that around, plus they need the points, or they could face a problem with the bottom three.
