Bayern Munich will begin their title defense quest in Monchengladbach where they will take on Borussia in the opening round of the new Bundesliga season.

The Bavarians enter the new campaign as enormous favorites to clinch another domestic silverware, especially since some of their main title rivals (namely Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig) have lost their star players this summer.
Besides the managerial change, Bayern Munich did not shift their roster too much in between two seasons.
They only switched center-backs, signing Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano in place of David Alaba who went to Real Madrid.
It will be very interesting to see how the Bavarians will look under the new manager Julian Nagelsmann.
The former Hoffenheim head coach does have reasons to be worried after a subpar pre-season campaign for his new team.
The Bavarians lost three and drew one of four exhibitions this summer, conceding at least two goals in each of these games.
The run includes a 0-2 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach. However, Nagelsmann did not utilize his main stars in any of these outings, meaning we should take such results with caution.
Monchengladbach have already played a competitive game this season. They only edged past a third-division outfit Kaiserslautern in the opening round of the new DFB Pokal campaign on Monday night.
The team’s top scorer from the previous season, Lars Stindl, made the difference netting the only goal of the game 12 minutes in.
