Roma vs AC Milan
Italy Serie A
Date: Sunday, 28 February 2021
Kick-Off at 19.45 UK
Venue: Stadio Olimpico, Rome.
Two wounded giants are set to drop curtain on the Matchday No 24 in Italian Serie A on Sunday evening when Roma host Milan at Stadio Olimpico.
La Lupa produced one of the most uninspiring performances of the campaign last weekend when they failed to break the deadlock in a goalless draw to Benevento. Milan, on the other side, suffered a painful 0-3 defeat to bitter city rivals Inter in Derby della Madonnina.
Both sides have been in action just three days ago in the UEFA Europa League and both teams are desperate for a result here when they come across each other.
Paulo Fonseca has had huge problems inside his dressing room lately. He is yet to fully sort out the situation with the former captain Edin Dzeko who only came on as a substitution in the mentioned draw against Benevento. It will be very interesting to see if Bosnian striker will start Sunday’s clash against Milan.
Roma vs AC Milan Head-to-head
- The head to head stats are all square at 19 wins, draws, and losses for each team in the previous 57 meetings.
- The two outfits shared spoils in a fantastic six-goal thriller when they met each other in late-October last year.
- Both teams were on target in four of the last five H2H affairs.
Roma vs AC Milan Prediction
This is a classic six-pointer in the battle for the top-four finish and a place in the Champions League next season. Milan are in a much better position being five points above the 4th-placed Romans. Their fans are, however, hugely disappointed after the embarrassing loss to fierce enemies last weekend. It was a defeat that killed I Rossoneri’s title ambitions. We can thus hardly even consider the away win pick here.
Considering both teams’ current state, the draw looks to be the most probable of the three outcomes. We will back it as the main betting option at the odds of 3.40. Since both teams scored in four of the last five H2H matches, this option looks decent at the 1.50 odds.
