Chelsea cemented their place in the third position after a comfortable 1-0 win against Norwich on Tuesday night.
Following their humiliating defeat against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday, coach Frank Lampard decided to make some changes in his side, with Olivier Giroud called back into the starting lineup.
And while Norwich, already relegated from the Premier League, fought away, they couldn’t hold off the Blues.
It was Olivier Giroud who won the match, after an incredible delivery from in form Christian Pulisic which saw the Frenchman made a good header into the back post.
Olivier Giroud has now netted five goals in his last six starts for Chelsea.
However, thereafter Giroud scored the goal, something controversial happened between the Frenchman and fellow team mate Jorginho.
As Giroud goes away to celebrate, he was accompanied on the scenes immediately by Jorginho, but the striker was having none of it, pushing the midfielder away, in order to celebrate with Pulisic the provider first.
Although, Sky Sports revealed that there were no hard feelings between Jorginho and Giroud, when the Italian did return to Giroud, he had a good smile in his face, with Giroud retuning the smile with a nice hug after he had finished celebrating with Christian Pulisic.
The Blues will return back to action on Sunday when they face rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final, before traveling to Anfield to face Liverpool in midweek.
