Marina Granovskaia to Sell Six Players to help Chelsea sign Kai Havertz and Jan Oblak

Chelsea have already made quite a statement in the transfer window despite the fact that the 2019/20 Premier League season is not over.

Confirming the arrival of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax in February, last month it was announced that RB Leipzig ace Timo Werner had joined the club on a long-term deal.

That shouldn’t be the end of their transfer business as Frank Lampard has some other key areas that he needs to strengthen before the big kick-off.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz continues to be linked with a summer switch to Stamford Bridge, while reports have suggested that the club could launch a big-money move for Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak.

The duo won’t come cheap and the Blues will have to help finance moves by cashing in on some of the players already in west London.

While a couple of Lampard’s current first-team squad such as Michy Batshuayi and Emerson Palmieri could be on the move over the coming months, here we take a look at some forgotten players who the Blues need to part with.

Tiemoue Bakayoko

Time For Tiemoue Bakayoko To Prove His Worth To Conte & Chelsea

Bakayoko joined the club three years ago after making a huge impression in a talented Monaco side.

The move just hasn’t gone to plan at all and he’s spent the past two seasons out on loan at AC Milan and Monaco respectively.

His Chelsea contract is running down and the club need to sell him before his value plummets even more.

Marina Granovskaia should still be able to get a decent fee for the Frenchman, although not around the £40million they shelled out on him in 2017.

Danny Drinkwater

Another 2017 arrival in SW6 was Drinkwater.

Seen as someone who could be the perfect player to start alongside N’Golo Kante given their success together at Leicester City, the move has turned out to be a complete disaster.

Drinkwater is currently on his second loan club of the season and has only made six appearances in total for Burnley and Aston Villa since August.

Another they need to cash in on if they can find a buyer.

Davide Zappacosta

Completing the list of 2017 signings is Zappacosta.

The right-back has never done enough to challenge Cesar Azpilicueta for a starting spot and that’s why Lampard elected to send him out on loan to Roma.

His spell in the Italian capital hasn’t gone to plan due to a serious knee injury but he is now back playing again for the Giallorossi.

Chelsea should be able to get a reasonable fee for the player if a club makes a bid.

Marco van Ginkel

You have to go back all the way to the 2013/14 season for Van Ginkel’s last appearance in a Chelsea shirt.

The midfielder has endured an injury nightmare recently but the club offered him a new one-year contract last month.

While it’s hard to see him getting a look in under Lampard, the new deal means the club can get a fee for him rather than losing him for nothing.

Baba Rahman

Rahman is still on the books at Chelsea despite last featuring for the team in May 2016.

The defender has had three loan spells since then, including this season at Real Mallorca.

He’s another player who doesn’t have a future in west London and needs to be sold to help raise transfer funds.

Kenedy

Chelsea news: Chelsea confirm departure of Kenedy to Getafe on 12 ...

Lampard took a good look at Kenedy in pre-season before electing to let him leave on loan.

The versatile Brazilian has played regularly for Getafe and clubs will be interested in signing him if he is made available for a transfer.

Certainly not someone who will raise a huge pile of cash, but a player who will bring a decent fee in to help fund any deals Lampard wants to do.

We’ll also send out special newsletters on Havertz with any big breaking news around his future and how it impacts Chelsea.

Victor Moses

One player who would bring in a bit of money is Moses.

The 29-year-old played a big part in the club’s success under Antonio Conte and that’s why the Italian lured him to Inter Milan back in January.

The Nerazzurri have the option to buy him permanently in the summer so that should boost the coffers if they go through with the deal.
