Manchester United fans are known for their flamboyant character when it comes to their new signings. The Old Trafford crowd is usually proud of thier player and can never stop praising new signings whatsoever. Things have further been made easy by social media platforms and groups everywhere. Fans can now chat and discuss the players perfomance at a daily basis.
And as is with the curent situation, the Red Devil fanbase is relishing the signing of Odion Ighalo and Portuguese guy Bruno Fernandes. And last week when Ighalo scored his first goals under a United shirt, fans were left in jubilance.
Apparently, it was Ighalo’s double for an English club since netting twice for Watford against Liverpool in a Premier League game in December 2015.
That made him hit two goals in his first two starts for the Red Devils. Twitter went on fire with praise for his FA tier win. The Nigerian thus proved to be a smart loan signing by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, even if few were expecting him to make much of an impact at Old Trafford.
And Ighalo’s incredible fast start at the club csme up with a new nickname. MUFC suporters now dub the 30-year-old the ‘Nigerian R9‘ a comparison to the legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo Delima. This is obviously a little tongue-in-cheek, but it shows just how much Ighalo has quickly endeared himself as a new fans favourite.
United supporters have even joked of Bruno Fernandes’ impact and nicknamed him “the playmaker.” Quite fancy lol…
