Football governing body FIFA have released the best XI for 2020. In a virtual award held on Thursday night.
This year edition of FIFA awards is set to acknowledge outstanding players in the year 2020.
Also known as The Best, this year award was held virtually due to the ongoing global pandemic. The show was broadcasted live from FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich while players, coaches and stakeholders connected virtually from different parts of the world.
Tottenham’s Heung Min Son won Pukas award for his remarkable solo goal against Burnley while Liverpool’s gaffer Jurgen Klopp won the best FIFA Coach of the year beating Bayern Munich manager Hans-Dieter Flick who won the treble with Bayern Munich in his first season.
For FIFPRO XI, Alison was chosen ahead of Manuel Neur who was awarded the best goal keeper in 2020.
In defense, Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos partnered Liverpool’s influential defender Virgil Van Dijk. Canadian youngster, Alphonso Davis is the left back while Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold is the right back.
In Midfield, Manchester City’s Kelvin De Bruyne partners Bayern Munich Joshua Kimmich and ex Bayern star Thiago Alcantara.
In attack two of the greatest players in football Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi partners a player who had the best 2020, Robert Lewandowski.
The biggest news on the night was when Robert Lewandowski was announced as the winner of 2020 The Best award ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Robert Lewandowski totally deserved the award as he was remarkable in the year, guiding Bayern Munich to a treble winning season.
