With a €15 million fees in bonuses to complete off a highly anticipated deal that would see Havertz drop big at Stamford Bridge. The two parties now seem to have unlocked the stalemate that had characterized the deal for quite some time, with reports indicating that Bayer Leverkusen were awaiting offers from Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants and who just won this season’s edition of La Liga had also shown their interest of signing Havertz, but seem to have slowed down their pursuit. A move that handed Chelsea an upper hand on the negotiating table. Havertz had also attracted the interests of Napoli, Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich, all football giants in their respective leagues. Perhaps as a sign of just how important and lethal the young star had become. Real Madrid would now be turning their attention to Rennes Edouard Camavinga should they miss out on Havertz.

While at Chelsea, Havertz is expected to play the number 10 role in a three pronged attacking formation that Frank Lampard prefers. With his defense also likely to be one of a back three. France International Ngolo Kante is expected to heavily feature in a four man midfield, alongside Croatia’s Mateo Kovacic, Italy’s Jorginho and new signing Hakim Ziyech.

Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and probably Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Willian or Olivier Giroud are likely to fight it out for the attacking trio positions.
