Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has confirmed that Kai Havertz has told them to let him leave the club this summer.
Havertz has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, with the blues at the forefront of the race to sign the attacking midfielder.
Now, the 21-year-old has made it known to his club bosses he wants to move to another club.
“It was always clear that there would be talks as soon as the Europa League ended for us,” Carro told Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger as quoted by TalkSport.
“Kai has expressed a wish to take the next step. Whether this will work in the near future or not, I can’t say at the moment.
“There are several clubs who want to include Kai Havertz in their future plans.”
