“I’m very happy to score three goals but of course it’s my beginning here at the club and I want to score more goals, more goals,” Kai Havertz told Sky Sports after scoring a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup third round.
“This is my goal and I’ll try to do my best and I’m very happy to score three goals today and I hope to continue like that.
On his amazing connection with Tammy Abraham, Kai added: “I think he’s a very very good striker and I think our partnership on the pitch was very good. It was our first game together but I like him very much as a striker. For me as a No.10, it’s very good to play with him.”
Deployed as a No.10, Havertz provided a perfect 66-minute performance. The 21-year-old scored a hat-trick, the first one in his senior career, created a number of chances and showed great defensive capabilities, providing some kind of an assist to Ross Barkley with a sliding tackle in front of the opponents’ box.
Abraham, in his turn, scored the opener, helped Havertz score his debut goal with a smart dummy and provided two assists for the German’s efforts later on.
