How Chelsea Could Line-up Against Brighton & Hove Albion

Chelsea discovered that their opening 2020/21 Premier League game will be a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on September 14.

The Blues have a quick turnaround from the end of their Champions League campaign, and they will be hoping for more than a top four finish this time around.

Frank Lampard and Marina Granovskaia have already made moves in the transfer window, and there is expected to be even more to come in the form of Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz.

They might not be the end of the spending as well, but what would be Lampard’s strongest XI for the opening match of the next campaign?

The Kepa Arrizabalaga situation is still ongoing, and there’s a possibility that the Spaniard will be sent out on loan, with Andre Onana coming into the team.

Meanwhile, Chilwell is being hotly pursued by the Blues and the Leicester City left-back would come straight into the starting XI if the Blues get him over the line.

At the back, Chelsea are yet to make moves for a new centre-back, meaning Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger would still be expected to line up in the heart of defence.

As for the right-back position, Cesar Azpilicueta will be hoping to keep his place in the starting XI, with Reece James looking to claim a spot in the side.

N’Golo Kante should be back to full fitness after playing the defeat to Bayern Munich, while Mateo Kovacic is set to be a key member of Lampard’s side next season.

The biggest changes could come in the front line, with Willian and Pedro having departed and Ziyech and Werner having joined the squad.

The Blues are edging ever closer to sealing the deal for Havertz, while Mason Mount was an outstanding member of last season, so will play a big part once again.
