#EndSARS protesters demand that Lampard start playing Chelsea’s Rudiger after he gave his support

Most Nigeria youths especially those in support of the #EndSARS movement are demanding that Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, start playing defender Antonio Rudiger after he showed some concern on their current plight. From his tweet, Rudiger said he is sad and heart broken with what the Nigeria police is doing to their people and pleaded for the world to look into it.

The Chelsea defender featured and assisted the first goal for Germany in their UEFA Nations League win over Ukraine on Saturday and quickly posted the above tweet to the joy of a vast majority of the youths after that game.

Sadly for the defender, things hasn’t been going so well at club level. The start of the new Premier League season in September has seen him lose his place in the team and as a matter of fact, despite being fit, he hasn’t even appeared on the bench for Frank Lampard’s side since the start of the season.

Following his recent tweet, some Nigerian youths who are protesting for the disbandment of a particular Police tactical unit, SARS, following their years of unchecked brutality on mostly innocent Nigerians, have thanked the Chelsea star and have demanded that Lampard start playing him as well. While some have pleaded for fellow Nigerians to show support for the defender by never trolling him again.

Here are some of the best reactions to Rudiger’s tweet.

Meanwhile Rudiger is not the only Chelsea player to have lent his voice to the struggles of Nigerian youths, Nigerian England-born players Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have also shown their support to the appreciation of many as well.

The clamour for Lampard to start playing Rudiger maybe coming from a majority of the #EndSARS protesters but not necessarily from the Nigerian Chelsea fans who might not really want the Chelsea manager to breakup the promising partnership between Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma.

In Chelsea’s last match against Crystal Palace the two combined really well to stop a strong Crystal Palace attack which terrorised Manchester United in their opening game of the season. Therefore some may not want Rudiger to enter just yet.

Kindly tell us where you stand on this, based on his kind gesture,
