#EndSARS: Nigerians Urge Super Eagles To Join Movement Against Police Brutality In Clash Against Algeria

The notorious police unit has been a menace to the society, and Nigerians have urged the Super Eagles to use their platform to speak out

Nigerians have called on Super Eagles stars to use their friendly against Le Fennecs of Algeria to support the #EndSars movement, which is gaining momentum across the country.

Over the past week, Nigerian youths have called on the Federal Government to disband the Special Anti Robbery Squad, popularly called SARS.

SARS is a unit in the Nigeria Police Force(NPF) established to tackle robbery incidents across the country.

However, the group has failed in that regard and has instead been a menace to citizens they are supposed to protect.

Several Nigerian youths have been on the receiving end of police brutality, while trigger happy SARS operatives have even killed some.

Soccernet.ng had reported about how a Remo Star player, Kazeem Tiamiyu, lost his life to a SARS operative. Also, a young man by the name Kolade Johnson was murdered by a SARS operative while watching a match at a viewing centre in Lagos.

A series these events has forced the youths to take to the streets in protest, calling on the FG to scrap the unit.

The youths have now called on Super Eagles stars to use their voices in supporting the movement when they take on Algeria tonight.

The match will take place at Worthersee Stadium, Klagenfurt with kick-off set at 7:30 pm Nigerian time.

Meanwhile, Soccernet.ng will provide live updates from the encounter
