Havertz ‘agrees’ contract with Chelsea
Chelsea have ‘agreed’ personal terms with Kai Havertz, according to latest reports.
The Bayer Leverkusen star has been heavily linked with a big-money move to Stamford Bridge despite the arrival of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
According to RMC Sport reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi, Havertz has agreed to a five-year contract with Chelsea and ‘absolutely wants’ to push through a move.
Talks are ongoing and Chelsea are ‘optimistic’ of striking a deal with Leverkusen over the next few days by staggering their payment for the Germany international.
Lampard calls for patience in Chelsea rebuild
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has insisted it will take time for the club to reach Manchester City and Liverpool’s level after crashing out of the Champions League.
The Blues were beaten 7-1 over two legs by Bayern Munich and despite being happy with finishing fourth, Lampard has called for patience as they look to build towards closing the gap on the Premier League’s top two.
“It won’t be an overnight procedure. Liverpool and Man City have pulled away for a number of reasons in the last two or three years in the Premier League,” he said after their defeat to Bayern Munich.
