Sergio Reguilon is aware of the transfer rumors surrounding him, with the Real Madrid full- back now linked with Chelsea , but so far still wants to focus on completing his loan spell at Sevilla .
Sevilla have not yet fully closed their 2019/20 campaign because they are still struggling in the Europa League.
Reguilon has consistently appeared in guarding the left side of the La Liga club’s defense , making his name the target of many top clubs including Chelsea.
Chelsea are starting to show their seriousness, with manager Frank Lampard looking to fix the left sector at the back of his squad.
They see Reguilon as a cheaper alternative than forcing the transfer of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City which can cost up to £ 80 million.
It’s just that, as he told Marca , the 23-year-old doesn’t really care about transfer issues: “If my year at Sevilla was not good then this [rumor] won’t happen. These teams won’t contact me.”
“If I’m fine, the team is fine and the club is fine, everyone’s happy. But I don’t think about this possibility [of a transfer] now – sorry if I sound cliché.”
“Since the lockdown I said that until the season is not completely over, I will not talk about the future.”
“Until then, it was unfair to me, my team-mates and also the club.”
“I have no complaints about anything, about this city, the club, the colleagues. I feel very loved. Who knows what will happen in the future.”
Sevilla beat Roma with great authority 2-0 in the game played this Thursday in Duisburg, Germany, against Roma and is planted in the quarterfinals of the Europa League, a tournament in which they showed against the Italian rival that he wants to win and achieve his sixth champion trophy.
The left back Sergio Reguilón (m.22) and the Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri (m.44) scored the goals of Julen Lopetegui’s team in the first half in which the Spanish team was much superior, and later in the second to be more contemplative but always in control of the situation and even with several occasions to increase the score.
The two teams arrived with the good feelings they left in the final stretch of their respective domestic championships and, in the case of the Sevilla players, with guaranteed participation in the next edition of the Champions League by finishing fourth in the championship.
In the second half, the Italian capital’s team came out with more impetus, as they had no choice with the adverse 2-0, and thus Mkhitaryan rehearsed the first dangerous shot of his team throughout the game.
Lopetegui’s men controlled without major shocks and the minutes passed in their favor, to the point that they could end with another goal, as in the opportunity of Éver Banega, who crashed a direct free on the crossbar in the ninety minute, or another of Koundé in the extension.
Roma, with their arms down and the fruit of their impotence, were left with ten players in the last set when Gianluca Mancini was expelled, after consulting with the VAR, for an elbow to the Dutch Luuk de Jong
And he gave them a glimpse of what’s to come as he scored the opener in Sevilla’s win over Roma.
The Spaniard produced an opportunity out of nowhere after the ball was played to him out wide.
He effortlessly danced past two defenders as he charged towards Roma’s goal.
Without a second glance, he slotted his left-footed strike past Pau Lopez and into the far corner of the net
