It’s been a fairly mixed start to the season for Chelsea football club in the English top flight. They’ve won one, drawn one and lost one of their opening three league games thus far, and after their impressive 6-0 Carabao cup win over Barnsley, they were eliminated from the competition in the next round via penalties by Tottenham Hotspur and former manager, Jose Mourinho.
The Blues have a lot of expectations for this season, as Frank Lampard seeks to turn his side to genuine title contenders. The Blues have made a number of quality signings this summer, having arguably the best summer window out of all the top clubs in England. One of the players who was brought to Stamford Bridge – the first of them actually – is Hakim Ziyech.
The Morrocan playmaker is seen as a solution to Chelsea’s dire need of a left footed winger, and he brings his creativity and playmaking ability to the attack. Unfortunately he’s been unable to take part in any game thus far this season, as he’s been injured since the preseason game against Brighton & Hove Albion. Frank Lampard in his last prematch conference stated that Ziyech – and Christian Pulisic – were in training and getting closer to a return. Well, the man himself has dropped a hint.
Hakim Ziyech has dropped a hint on Instagram, which will leave Chelsea fans excited. The 27-year old has been training in recovery, as he looks to make his debut for the club as soon as possible. And he recently uploaded a post on Instagram with an image of him training with one of the coaches, and the caption “Step by step” followed by an hourglass emoji.
Obviously this is a hint as to when he will be coming back, or at least, that he is close to making a return. Fans will be hoping he, as well as Christian Pulisic, will return to. The first team as soon as possible.
