Chelsea Officially Revealed Available Shirt Numbers for Kai Havertz

Chelsea are about to complete the signing of German sensation Kai Havertz. The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with the club for what seems like a lifetime now, and it seems like the deal is about to be completed in no time. Who knows, it might be announced by the time this article comes out.

Havertz is going to become our club record signing and can be a real game-changer for us in the years to come. So, let’s take a look at what potential shirt numbers will be best suited for him for the upcoming season.

This is the number he has worn for Bayer Leverkusen ever since he has been part of their senior team. He has made a name for himself with this number on the back.

At Chelsea, this number is currently worn by Fikayo Tomori, who has been linked heavily with a loan move away from the club. In that likely scenario, Kai can pursue with his favourite shirt number for his new club.

The recently vacated number 10 jersey would also suit Kai a lot. This shirt is usually worn by the star of the team, which was Eden Hazard for a long time.

There have been talks of the likes of Hakim Ziyech and most notably Christian Pulisic getting the prestigious number 10 jersey, but, there is a very good case to be made for Havertz dawning it for the years to come.

This is somewhat of a long shot, as this number is currently worn by the club’s best player N’Golo Kante. Havertz has previously dawned this iconic number for the German National team.

It is a number often associated with players of his characteristics, a vibrant, attacking force. Again, this is a long shot, but I think N’Golo would be more than happy to pass the shirt onto his new teammate.

This is an outside shout. The number 21 jersey is a very iconic one for midfielders. It’s been worn by some real bastians of the sport, such as Zinedine Zidane at Juventus, Andrea Pirlo at AC Milan and David Silva at Manchester City. It has been vacant ever since Nemanja Matic departed the club and nothing tells me that someone as ambitious as Kai wouldn’t love
to wear the iconic number.
