Chelsea winger Pedro had reportedly agreed to sign with AS Roma earlier this week, which, if true, would basically end his Chelsea career in 12 days. He would have little reason to keep playing for Blues and risk injury for short-term gains when a two-year well-paying deal is waiting for him in the Italian capital.
Pedro has agreed to join Roma on a free transfer and must decide whether to sign a short-term extension to stay at Chelsea until the end of the season. Chelsea have until next Tuesday to negotiate a short-term deal with the Spanish winger, whose contract is due to expire on 30
Another number which might be free is Pedro’s number 11, with the Spaniard another set to leave when his contract expires.
However, once again it’s a number which would be hot property for Chelsea’s new signings – especially Werner.
The German currently wears the shirt number at RB Leipzig, and he could well demand the same once his move to Stamford Bridge is completed.
Werner has worn No 11 since moving to Leipzig in 2016, and it could be an option again at Chelsea – despite it currently being occupied.
Pedro has sported that number on his back since 2016 but is out of contract at the end of the season
It’s official confirm that Timo Werner will take the legend jersey and he also said he will love to replicate what dider Drogba has done for the club
