Chelsea young midfielder Billy Gilmour has asked to leave the club on loan in order to make Scotland’s squad for European Championship this summer after Thomas Tuchel snubbed him in his first team list of his Chelsea career.
The Scot who was Lampard’s favorite was dropped completely from the matchday squad in Wednesday’s 0-0 meeting against Wolves in Stamford Bridge with Jorginho and Matteo Kovacic being preferred as the two holding midfielders
Originally before Lampard’s sacking, a loan move was touted for the youngster but after Tuchel’s snub, the rumours has intensified with Daily Mail reporting that the midfielder has asked to leave in search for regular football.5
It is reported that Chelsea will grant his wish as the club will not want to loose him and will not stunt his growth by keeping him on the bench as the board look to him as the future.
The 19 years old will not be short of suitors as a host of Premier League clubs will line up for his signature including West Ham and Newcastle United. Rangers are also looking to take their former player as Steven Gerrard looks to add him to his ranks for the remainder of the season.
