Mitchy Batshuayii’s days as a Chelsea player seems numbered as the Blues are set to cash in on the Belgian international. Batshuayii has played second fiddle to in form Academy graduate, Tammy Abraham, all season and is ahead of world cup winner, Oliver Giroud in the pecking order.
Batshuayii returned to London last summer after an unimpressive loan spell at La Liga side, Valencia and has failed to impress when offered minutes in the current campaign.
Batshauyii has seen his claim as Chelsea’s next ”Didier Drogba” taken away from him by 22 year old English star, Tammy Abraham. Tammy has scored 13 league goals in 20 Premier League appearances to stay as Lampard’s first choice striker in his debut season as a Chelsea manager.
However, Batshuayii is drawing interest from Top European clubs with Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. Chelsea has slapped a $45Million fee for the Belgian as they prepare to complete a move to interested sides.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are continuing to look to Norway for fresh young talent, and are reportedly close to snapping up a second Scandinavian youngster this month.
After 16-year-old Bryan Fiabema was pictured at the club’s training ground over the weekend, Norwegian outlet VG now claim that 18-year-old Josef Baccay could follow his fellow countryman into Stamford Bridge.
Lillestrom youngster Baccay can play anywhere on the left side, and is represented by the same agency as Fiabema.
Do you think Lampard is getting it right this transfer season? Should Batshuayii leave considering Chelsea have only Giroud as back up to Abraham?
