Chelsea supporters are furious after a photo emerged on social media of injured attcker Hakim Ziyech on international duty with his Morocco team-mates
Chelsea fans are not happy after seeing new signing Hakim Ziyech training with Morocco.
The former Ajax man is yet to play a competitive game for the Blues since his big-money move, due to a knee injury.
But Ziyech has been deemed fit enough by Morocco chiefs for this week’s international break.
The attacker is set to play for his country in the coming days, despite Frank Lampard not deeming him fit enough to make the bench for Chelsea so far this season.
And Blues fans are now unhappy after seeing a picture of Ziyech in training, with his injured knee strapped up.
“Chelsea shouldn’t have let him go on international duty,” one angry fan said on Twitter.
“Why he is with national team?” one wrote.
“Ziyech reporting for Morocco duty wearing a knee brace. Absolutely disgraceful. Why did he even leave London?!” a third said.
“Not happy about this ffs,” said another.
“If he plays at all I will be so angry!” a fifth said.
Ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday, Lampard had said: “Ziyech is getting closer but not close enough to be on the bench.”
But former Ajax star Jesper Olsen believes Ziyech will be a star at Stamford Bridge when he is finally fully fit in west London.
He told Stats Perform News: “There’s no doubt he will be a success at Chelsea.
“I think Frank Lampard has done a really good job. He knows the club inside out. Seems to be very good in terms of management and playing style.
“This is the important thing, he wants to attack and play offensive football. That will not be a problem [for Ziyech].
“The players coming out of Ajax, they are like that. Being a defender or midfielder, you are attacking-minded. No doubt about that.”
