Chelsea Football Club have been active in the transfer market as the Blues have brought in several world-class players to massively improve the quality of the squad this season.
Chelsea Football Club are reportedly considering a move for Dayot Upamencano as the Blues are very keen on reinforcements in defense which will make the Blues a more solid side this season. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has failed to field a consistent back-line as the Blues have struggled defensively since the Chelsea legend joined the Blues as Head Coach last season.
21-Year Old Highly rated French defender Dayot Upamencano has been drawn up as a potential signing by the Blues as the club looks to bring in a defender to likely partner Thiago Silva in the heart of Chelsea’s Backline. The French defender has been regarded as one of the best young defenders in Europe as his impressive performances for RB Leipzig has drawn the interest of several top clubs around the world.
Chelsea are now set to storm Leipzig again after completing the signing of Timo Werner from the German club this summer. Although, Dayot Upamencano has signed a new deal with Leipzig, there are still chances that the defender could be leaving the club in the nearest future and Chelsea could be poised to trigger his £54million release clause ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal.
Dayot Upamencano is exactly what Frank Lampard needs in defence as the Frenchman is a very strong player with excellent reading of the game, his impressive positioning, passing range and tackling ability will be a massive boost for Chelsea football club. Dayot Upamencano will bring massive defensive stability and quality for the Blues as his arrival will reduce the goals conceded by Chelsea from both open play and set pieces.
However, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on Declan Rice but Chelsea transfer chiefs feel Dayot Upamencano is a more suitable player for Chelsea as he is a more defensive oriented player than Declan Rice. Also, Chelsea feel they have enough quality in midfield and will only sign Declan Rice if they are able to sell one of their current midfielders.
