Havertz sets transfer deadline

Kai Havertz reportedly wants his future sorted by the end of the summer transfer window amid links to Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

After sealing a deal for Timo Werner, the Blues have been tipped to make a move for the striker’s international teammate.

Earlier in the month, The Mail reported that Chelsea had opened talks with Leverkusen about signing Havertz for £70m-£75m in the summer transfer window.

These talks have since been confirmed, although with so many teams in the running, this transfer saga could last for at least another couple of months.

It is widely expected that the Bundesliga outfit won’t stand in the 21-year-old’s way should he wish to leave and they receive an acceptable offer.

But German publication Bild claim Havertz is open to remaining with Leverkusen for another year.
