Henderson accepts Van de Beek request
Manchester United new boy Donny van de Beek had goalkeeper Dean Henderson to thank for getting the number shirt that he wanted.
Van de Beek wore the No.6 shirt in Amsterdam but made it known that he would prefer to take the No.34 with the Red Devils.
This was in honour of his former Ajax teammate and close friend Abdelhak ‘Appie’ Nouri, who was left in a coma for three years after collapsing during a match.
Nouri wore the No.34 shirt for Ajax and Van de Beek made it clear he would like the same number at his new club.
Henderson, who previously held that number, kindly gave it up for the new signing shortly after the deal was confirmed and will be allocated a new number
