The Federal Government has finally approved the full reopening of schools across the Country, this was made known by the National Co-ordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, he gave the directive at the Presidential Taskforce briefing today, Thursday, September 3.
He however directed schools to conduct a risk assessment and stated that the re-opening would be done in phases. In his words, he mentioned that;
“For educational institutions which include daycare, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. Educational institutions should begin the process of working towards potentially reopening within this phase.”
It can be recall that school have been closed since March, 2020, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This a good and welcome development to me, the Federal Government has also give approval to the management of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to start making preparations for the re-opening of the orientation camps. What is your take on this new development?
