That deal has now been agreed, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, and Chelsea are in a position to confirm the move.

The initial £50m fee could increase over time with Chilwell’s contract set to include various add-ons which, if met, would result in Leicester making even more off his transfer to west London.

Chilwell, 23, has made 123 appearances for Leicester since graduating from their academy, also winning 11 caps for England.

He is due to become Chelsea’s third senior signing of the summer transfer, after Hakim Ziyech joined from Ajax and Timo Werner arrived from RB Leipzig.

Romano also reports that Chelsea made a fresh bid to Bayer Leverkusen for their Germany superstar on Friday.

However, the Bundesliga club remain adamant they will not sell for any less than £90m, while Chelsea value the midfielder closer to £72m.
