The Brazilian has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham as his contract is set to expire at Stamford Bridge
Brazil legend Rivaldo has told Frank Lampard he needs to speak to Willian about his plans for Chelsea going forward.
The 31-year-old’s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire this month, and he’s been linked with a number of clubs as he weighs up his future.
Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked to the player, while Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian has claimed his client has two offers on the table from Premier League clubs, as well offers from the MLS and Europe.
The Brazilian could yet stay at Chelsea though, with reports over the weekend stating the Blues had made progress over a potential new deal, having been knocked back in previous talks.
Rivaldo though feels his compatriot needs to listen to what Lampard has planned for him going forward before making a decision on his future.
“Willian is at the end of his contract with Chelsea and Arsenal seem to be interested in signing him,” Rivaldo told Betfair.
“But he’s having an excellent season and Chelsea are interested in keeping him.
“Frank Lampard and the board need to inform the player about their plans for him next season. Chelsea are signing players and, if Willian will not be a first choice pick, then he probably would prefer to leave.
“Willian will have many interested clubs, but I think he would prefer to learn about Chelsea’s plans first before taking a decision about his future.”
