Manchester City star and Chelsea target Aymeric Laporte has ‘concrete chances’ of sealing his Etihad Stadium exit
CHELSEA are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to keep on improving a side that struggled to keep clean sheets last season.
And that has led to constant speculation in the media that Chelsea are eyeing up a number of possible defenders between now and the end of the transfer window in order to solve a very big problem in the squad
Shock reports emerged in the media over the weekend that Chelsea have contacted Man City about a possible deal for the impressive Laporte -who is one of the very best defenders in world football
Now journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Laporte has a very good chance to sealing a move away from Man City – although he believes Barcelona and Bayern Munich are leading the chase for the star.
Galetti told GIVEMESPORT: “There are concrete chances of Laporte leaving Manchester City in the summer.
“Bayern are showing interest in him, but their priority is to sign Kim Min-jae at the beginning of July, and Barcelona are on his tracks as well.
“The future of the Spanish centre-back, whose contract expires in 2025, is still to be decided.”
It would be a massive shock to see Laporte leave the club when he is a massive part of that Man City side – Pep Guardiole will not want him to leave.
However – if the Spanish boss feels that he cannot get the best from Laporte in the future – then a deal could be on the cards – and although Galetti doesnt believe that CHELSEA have a chance – he would be a brilliant addition to that Blues squad.
