Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Dutch forward Memphis Depay on a free transfer.
The former Manchester United man has spent the last five seasons at Lyon, where he managed 76 goals in 133 games.
But after running down his contract with the Ligue 1 side he has now been snapped up by Barca, who are already having a busy summer.
On Saturday afternoon the club’s official Twitter account initially posted the emoji of a lion, hinting at the deal being imminent due to the fact Depay has a huge tattoo of the animal on his back.
And just minutes later they posted a video of the player mocked up with a Barca shirt on, along with the words “Welcome Memphis”.
Memphis Depay has completed a move to Barcelona
The 27-year-old joins fellow free agents Eric Garcia and Sergio Aguero in making the move to the Nou Camp, with Barca acting early to strengthen their squad without spending a penny.
Depay will be desperate to make an impression in Spain after he struggled following his last big move when he joined United from PSV Eindhoven in 2015.
He played at Old Trafford for just two seasons, and failed to make much of an impression before going to Lyon.
