Tiwatope Savage known as Tiwa Savage born on 5th February, 1980 (41 years) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress. She was birth in Isale, Eko but relocated to London at age 11 secondary education. She attained University of Kent, where she graduated with a degree in accounting respectively.

Five years after, she began her music carrier as a backup vocals for singers such as George Michael and Mary J. Blige. After participating in the UK Edition of The X factor and graduating from Berklee College of Music, she signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2009.

Inspired by the growth of the Nigerian music industry, she returned back to Nigeria where she got signed with Mavins Records in 2012. She made her first appearance on the label’s 2012 compilation album, Solar Plexus.

Afterwards, she made her first debut studio album ‘Once Upon a Time’ which was released in 2013, supported by seven singles. The album was nominated as Best Album of the Year in the 2014 Nigerian Entertainment Awards and R&B/Pop album at the Headies 2014.

In December 2011, she co-hosted the second season of Nigerian Idol alongside IllRymz. She made her first debut with Joke Silvia and Ireti Doyle in the stage adaption of ‘For Coloured Girls’.

Since then, she has been active in the Nigerian Entertainment industry and has released singles and different albums like Celia (2020), Once Upon a Time (2013), R. E. D (2015) and Sugarcane EP (2017).

Tiwa got married to her former manager Tunji ‘Tee Billz’ Balogun where their traditional marriage was held on 23rd November, 2013 at the Ark in Lekki, Lagos and white wedding was held on 26th April, 2014 in Armani Hotel, Dubai.

The couple announced on 1st January, 2016 that they were expecting their first child together. Months later, she gave birth to her son, Jamil Balogun. On April 28, 2016 Balogun accused his wife if Infidelity and so they parted ways.

With so much work and acquired wealth, in 2018, Tiwa bought a multimillion Naira mansion in Lekki, Lagos State.
