There are videos of people in China and the United Kingdom destroying 5G network masts following rumors that radiations from the masts cause the coronavirus disease.
These unfounded claims gained ground when American singer, Keri Hilson made claims that the 5G network is linked to coronavirus.
Hilson tweeted: “People have been trying to warn us about 5G for YEARS. Petitions, organizations, studies… what we’re going through is the effects [sic] of radiation. 5G launched in CHINA. Nov 1, 2019. People dropped dead.”
Although Hilson was berated for the assumption, many conspiracy theorists supported her claims which have now spread all over social media.
Marvin C. Ziskin, Professor Emeritus of Radiology and Medical Physics, told Reuters that there is no basis to expect that 5G would cause adverse health issues provided exposure limits are respected.
“The weight of scientific evidence indicates that 5G emissions are not cumulative. That is, multiple exposures of innocuous exposures do not add to produce any adverse biological effect,” he said.
